Jodie Barnett is a Certified Diabetes Educator, Nurse Practitioner and Health Coach. She has over 15 years’ experience working as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Jodie is a member of the National Association of Diabetes Educators and served as a state legislative liaison in Washington D.C. to promote diabetes education reimbursement issues. She served as program chair and newsletter writer for the Kansas Diabetes Educators Society.
She is a supporter of the local American Diabetes Association and believes this is an excellent resource for diabetes patients and their families. She helped launched the ADA TourdeCure Bike ride in 2009 and was chair for three years. She also served as President in 2009 and served on the board of directors for several years.
With Jodie’s experience in family practice she knows the burden placed on family practitioners in managing a diabetes patient. She wants to help practitioners increase the efficiency in their practice by assuming the time consuming patient training, counseling and education. She believes in personal and individualized care and is able to spend the time needed in order to help her patients.
